From 1 July, the Cook Labor Government’s cost of living measures are starting to roll out, and I want to make sure you don’t miss out on what you’re entitled to.

$100 FUEL SUPPORT PAYMENT

From 1 July, every Western Australian with a valid driver’s licence – including learners and P platers – can claim the one-off $100 Fuel Support Payment.

The fastest way to claim is through the ServiceWA app, with alternative claim options also available for anyone who can’t or doesn’t want to use the app. Claims close Thursday, 31 December 2026.

Alternative Ways To Claim the Fuel Support Payment.

The vast majority of enquiries at my office have been from constituents who don’t have, or don’t want to use, the ServiceWA app. You can get more information about alternative ways to claim the Fuel Support Payment and download the application here. The form is also available from my office.

WA STUDENT ASSISTANCE PAYMENT (WASAP)

From 20 July, parents and carers can claim the next round of the WA Student Assistance Payment – $150 for every kindergarten and primary student, and $250 for every secondary student. Claims are made through the ServiceWA app and must be received by Friday 25 September 2026.

FOSTER AND GRANDCARER GOLD CARD

From 1 July, eligible foster carers, family carers and grandcarers can register for the new Foster and Grand Carer Gold Card through the ServiceWA app. The first benefit is a $377 Energy Bill Relief Payment, with more benefits and incentives to roll out over time.

For constituents who can’t or don’t want to use the ServiceWA app:

You can get more information about alternative ways to claim the Fuel Support Payment and download the application form here. The form is also available from my office. The electronic form will be available for completion from mid-July.

To claim by paper form, constituents post the completed form with photocopies of their WA driver’s licence and an Australian bank statement in their name. See below.

You will need to provide: 

  • Full name 
  • Date of birth 
  • Valid WA driver’s licence or learner’s permit number 
  • Expiry date 
  • Bank account details 
  • Email address so you can be contacted about the status of your claim 

You will also need a copy of your WA driver’s licence (both sides) and an Australian bank statement in your name. Both documents need to show your current residential address. 

IMPORTANT: Paper form claims can take up to 8 weeks to process.
