As part of the Cool the Schools program, the Cook Labor Government is delivering for Newborough Primary School. The $4.5 million air conditioning upgrade has commenced, with delivery expected this Summer.
For 70 years, Newborough Primary has been delivering quality education, and this upgrade will make classrooms comfortable for students and staff. Cooler learning spaces mean a better learning environment for students to focus and for teachers to do their best work.
These first-stage works in the admin, main classroom and library block and include: a roof replacement, swapping out old evaporative air conditioning and gas heating for new reverse cycle air conditioning systems and major electrical upgrades.
These works are due for completion when students return to school in the new year, and further works on the remaining blocks will be done over the April school holidays.
