Comments attributed to Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:

“Scarborough is one of Perth’s most well-known and popular beaches and the Surf Cat will be a game-changer for locals and visitors travelling to area, right in time for summer.

“Our Government is proud of its record investment in WA’s public transport network and this new free service is another great local project that will make a real difference to accessibility at Scarborough.

“With more people being able to travel to Scarborough with ease, the Surf Cat will support more vibrant local events and help bring even more visitors to the beach from all over Perth.”

Comments attributed to Scarborough MLA Stuart Aubrey:

“Scarborough has come a long way in recent years - it’s a safe, vibrant, and welcoming community. It’s also a thriving destination for sport, culture, music, and arts events that brings people together and showcases the very best of our coastline.

“With so many people coming to Scarborough, it of course has put pressure on parking in the area, which is why the WA Labor Government has been focused on delivering better public transport and pedestrian connectivity so this area can be enjoyed into the future.

“This free Surf Cat service will give our community a free, convenient way to reach the beach, relieve traffic congestion and boost our small businesses and local economy.

“We are Perth’s premier beachside destination and the gateway to the Sunset Coast - Surf CAT will better connect our community and keep us moving forward.”
