SURF CAT LAUNCH MEDIA RELEASE

Scarborough Beach’s new free CAT bus will begin passenger services from 30 November.

Surf Cat marks the delivery of a 2025 WA Labor election commitment following strong advocacy from Scarborough MLA Stuart Aubrey.
$17.8 million allocated to the project to address significant access challenges at Scarborough, including traffic congestion and limited parking, by encouraging public transport use and reducing reliance on private vehicles.
The investment included new bus lanes, two new bus embayments on West Coast Highway, as well as accessibility and congestion-busting improvements to the West Coast Highway/Scarborough Beach Road Intersection.
The free, high-frequency daily bus service will run every 10 minutes for most of the day, giving users the opportunity to hop off at their leisure.
It will operate between Stirling Bus Station and Scarborough Beach via Innaloo Shopping Centre, with an end-to-end journey of about 20 minutes.
The new Surf Cat buses are equipped with dedicated surfboard racks.
